The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA
Evelyn Kines Denton, 79, of Rome, formerly of Cedartown, passed away Wednesday, 
Oct. 8, 1997. Mrs. Denton was born May 3, 1918 in Rock Run, Ala.. She was a 
member of the Second Avenue Baptist Church of Rome and a former member of the 
Oak Grove Baptist Church for 60 years where she served as WMU president. She 
was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Denton, a sister, Bonnie Kines 
Gibbs, and a brother, Rev. Grady Kines. Surviving are: son, Andrew Denton, Jr., 
Vickie Denton Busbin of Rome; sister, Bertie Kines Sharp of Cedartown; four 
grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services were held 
Saturday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral 
Home, with Dr. Kenneth Ross officiating. Interment followed in Oak Grove 
Cemetery. The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
