Stephens wend@bellsouth.net July 8, 2004, 3:37 pm Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., Thursday, February 6, 1919 On Feb. 1st the death angel visited the home of Mr. F. M. Shiflett, and took from them their beloved one, Miss Mary, We can only say to the bereaved family: Weep not, dear Miss Mary is not dead but sleeping the sweet sleep our Savior slept, and we hope that some sweet day we shall meet her up yonder, where happiness and joy never cease. She was a loving sister and obedient child in her home. She leaves to mourn her death a father, mother, three sisters, seven brothers and many friends. Miss Mary was a girl that was loved by all that knew her. The funeral was conducted Sunday afternoon by Rev. R. W. Hamrick and she was laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery.
