Stephens wend@bellsouth.net July 11, 2004, 4:04 pm Atlanta Constitution, Atlanta, GA, July 17, 1883 Cedartown Advertiser: Mr. James Blackman a citizen of Atlanta, while on his way to Birmingham stopped in this county last week to see the family of his brother, Dr. Blackman, whose mysterious absence is well known, the family residing at the old home near Lime branch. Remaining Friday, he enjoyed himself in walks about the farm, and a short while after supper, of which he ate heartily, he retired. Shortly after retiring he was heard to groan as if in some agony and a young man about the house was sent to his room, and found him apparently only slightly restless and endeavored to fix him comfortably, but subsequent silence arousing a deep concern, he was examined and found to be lifeless. It is supposed that apoplexy or heart disease was the cause of his death. He remains were interred on Sunday at Blooming Grove church burying place.
