Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, Ga, Wednesday, December 26, 1990
Rev. Snead Plant, age 84, of Avondale Estate, formerly of Rockmart, died 
Wednesday, December 19.  Rev. Plant was born in Meriwether County, February 
26,  1906.  He was a retired Baptist minister, furniture salesman, a member of 
the Rockmart First Baptist Church, former member of the Rockmart Kiwanis Club, 
and Rockmart Masonic Lodge.  Surviving are one daughter, Jean Williamson, 
Avondale Estate; two brothers, Walter Plant and Letson Plant, both of Miami, 
Fla.; one sister, Thelma Slappey, Albany.  Two grandchildren and three great-
grandchildren also survive.  Funeral services were held Friday, December 21, at 
1 p.m. at the Rockmart First Baptist Church with the Rev. W. C. Corley and the 
Rev. David Taylor officiating.  Interment followed in the Rockmart Memorial 
Gardens.  The Freeman Harris Funeral Home of Rockmart had charge of the
