The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, March 13, 1997
Charles R. Waters, Jr., age 70, of 784 Brock Road, Rockmart, passed away 
Friday, March 7, 1997 at his residence.  Mr. Waters was born March 1, 1927 in 
Bartow County.  He was a retired Georgia Power employee, a veteran of the U.W. 
Army having served during World War II, and a member of the Rockmart American 
Legion Post No. 12.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruthelle Goss 
Waters, and parents, Charlie and Dora Maxwell Waters, Sr.  Surviving are; two 
sons, Larry Waters, Sr., and Terry Waters, both of Rockmart; brother, Elmer 
Waters of Dallas; two sisters, Marie Quick of Rockmart and Ruth Lanier of 
Stilesboro; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services 
were held Sunday, March 9, at 2 p.m. from the Freeman Harris Funeral Home 
Chapel, with the Rev. Lawrence Garrett and Rev. Lewis Woodard officiating.  
Interment followed in Rose Hill Cemetery.  The Rockmart American Legion Post 
No. 12 served as pallbearers.  The Freeman Harris Funeral Home, of Rockmart had 
charge of the arrangements.
