Stephens wend@bellsouth.net July 11, 2004, 5:12 pm The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., Tuesday, March 18, 1997 Linda Blankenship Palmer, age 49, of Loomis, Calif., formerly of Rockmart, passed away Saturday, March 8, 1997, in Sacramento, Calif. Mrs. Palmer was born December 8, 1947 in Rome. She was a homemaker and a member of Piedmont Avenue Baptist Church; a founding member of the California Chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition; a board member of Gerspack-Warnes Ovarian Cancer Steering Committee; a volunteer at the American Cancer Society; and a leader of the Eureka 4-H and the Franklin School PTA. She was preceded in death by her father, Perry Blankenship. Surviving are: her husband, Glen Palmer, Loomis, Calif.; daughter, Nancl Palmer of Loomis, Calif.; mother, Edna Blankenship of Rockmart; sister, Velma Kahiapo of Pensacola, Fla.; brother, Lamar Blankenship of Rockmart. A memorial service was held Saturday, March 15, at 2:30 p.m. from Piedmont Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Hobart Pierce and Rev. Steve Carroll officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donatio9ns be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, P.O. Box 4472, Bocca Raton, Fla. 33429-4472.
