The Atlanta Constitution, Atlanta, GA, May 21, 1882
Special Correspondence of the Constitution
Cedartown, May 19---Jerry Hale, colored, died this morning at 9 o’clock, near 
Godard’s station, of small-pox.  He visited the first case developed at 
Rockmart, at which place there are now three cases.  There is one case, a white 
man, in three and a half miles of this place.  Our telegraph line was opened
