Stephens wend@bellsouth.net July 11, 2004, 7:46 pm Cedartown Standard, Thursday, May 2, 1901 Mrs. Nancy Ann Groce, the estimable wife of Rev. G. W. Groce, passed away Monday morning, aged thirty-eight years. She was born in Carroll County, where she was united in marriage with Mr. Groce twenty-two years ago, and to whom she has been a loving helpmeet. Five children are left to mourn the loss of a devoted mother. Fifteen years ago she and her husband united with the Methodist church, of which they have both been loyal and earnest members. Mr. Groce is the beloved pastor of the Canal Street Methodist church, and he and his family have the heartfelt sympathy of all in their bereavement. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church Tuesday morning by Rev. T. R. McCarty, and the remains were laid to rest in the city cemetery in the presence of a large concourse of sympathizing friends. Mr. Groce wishes to return thanks through The Standard to the many friends whose words and acts of kindness and sympathy have been a benediction to him in his great affliction.
