Cedartown Standard, October 16, 1902
Mr. J. E. Brooks was called to Felton to attend the funeral Thursday of his 
venerable father, Mr. Elizah M. Brooks, whose death was quite sudden. He had 
just gone out to the lot, and on returning to the residence, died of heart 
failure. He was a good citizen, a clever neighbor and a kind husband and 
father. He was an old and prominent resident of Haralson county, and was known 
to many Polk county people. (Cedartown Standard, October 16, 1902)
