Louise B. Penney, 85, of 225 Philpot St., Cedartown, and a former long-time 
resident of West Rome, died Wednesday, Jan 1, 2003. A native of Floyd County, 
Mrs. Penny was born on May 24, 1917. She was a member of the Oak Hill Church of 
Christ and the Eastern Star. Prior to her retirement in 1980, she was 
associated with Floyd Medical Center for 15 years as a medical secretary. She 
was preceded in death by her husband, Bert Penney; parents, Harvey and Allie 
Roberts Blaylock; brother, Bill Blaylock. Survivors include sons, Warren H. 
Penney of Rome and James M. “Jim” Penney of Cedartown; daughter, Sharon Miller 
of Clinton, TN; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A memorial service 
was held Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003, at 4 p.m. at the Parkview Chapel of Fred 
Talley’s Funeral Home in Rome, GA. Minister David O’Connell officiated. Fred 
Talley’s Parkview Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of the memorial service.
