Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net January 25, 2007, 9:19 pm The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, July 10, 2003 Fan Britt Perdue, 89, of 1822 Morgan Valley Rd., Rockmart, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2003. She was born October 3, 1913, in Thomaston, the daughter of the late Fannie Mae Cheney Britt and Alfred Aquilla Britt. She lived in the Macon area where she was president of Bowden Ladies Golf Association in Macon and worked as a water safety instructor with the Red Cross for fifteen years. She was a member of Wesleyan-Drive Baptist Church of Macon prior to relocating to Rockmart, where she joined First Baptist Church and the Golden Age Group. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Seay Perdue; sister, Elizabeth Britt Swanson; brothers, Alfred Aquilla Britt, Jr., William “Pete” Britt, and Robert Walker Britt. Survivors include daughters, Janet Perdue Cowart, Joan Perdue Carr, and Kathy Perdue Davis; six grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 5, at 1 p.m. at Fist Baptist Church of Rockmart with Rev. Paul Cleveland and Dr. David Taylor officiating. Interment followed in Glennwood Cemetery in Thomaston. Pallbearers were Brent C. Hayes, Fletcher Royce Hobbs, III, Kyler Michael Thrasher, Wesley Mark Sargent, Jr., Paul Marotte, Michael Loyd Thrasher, and Michael Louis Irby. Deacons of First Baptist Church were the honorary pallbearers. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
