Robert Lawrence Pierce, 73, of 218 Lake View Drive, Cedartown, passed away 
Friday, May 2, 2003. He was born Dec. 12, 1929 in Cherokee County, AL, and was 
a member of the Southside Baptist Church. He was retired form the U.S. Army, 
attaining the rank of First Sergeant. He was a veteran, with tours in both 
Korea and Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucian and Dorothy 
Brown Pierce; brother, Wallace Pierce; and sisters, Alline Gray and Catherine 
Watts. Survivors include his wife, Gerda G. Pierce of Cedartown; son, Ronny 
Pierce of Villa Rica; daughters, Sandra Parris and Sissy Johnson, both of 
Cedartown; brother, Charles Pierce of Cedartown; sisters, Louella Woody and 
Alta Wheeler, both of Cedartown and Gean Pierce of Birmingham; three 
grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were 
conducted Tuesday, May 6 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Lester C. Litesey 
Funeral Home with Dr. James Guy and Rev. J.C. Robinson officiating. Interment 
followed in Polk Memory Gardens with full military honors conducted by the 
Brewster – Cleveland American Legion Post #86. Pallbearers were Wallace Gray, 
Jerry Parris, Trey Brooks, Matt Johnson, James Chandler and Brian Chandler. The 
Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. (The
