Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., November 14, 2002
William R. “Toby” Rowell, 77, of 148 Cason Road, passed away Thursday, Dec. 11. 
He was born Oct. 4, 1926 in Polk County and was a Navy veteran and retired 
electrician at Lockheed. Mr. Rowell was preceded in death by: parents, Austin 
Rowell and Addie McBride Rowell; wife, Mildred Louise Rowell; and sisters, Rosa 
Lee Holcomb and Mary Jo Wallace. Survivors include: sons, Terry and Derry 
Nichols; sister, Elizabeth Willingham; daughter, Dodie Rowell; and eight 
grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted 
Sunday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m., from the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with 
Dr. Larry Conner officiating. Interment followed in Polk Memory Gardens. 
Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. (Cedartown Standard,

John Fulton Rutledge, 92, of 3898 Wimberly Hill Loop, Cedartown, passed away 
Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002. He was born July 24, 1910 in Polk County and wa retired 
from Goodyear. He was preceded in death by his wife, N. C. Hollard Rutledge, 
and his parents, John and Bessie Ezzell Rutledge. Survivors include: son, Lewis 
Rutledge; daughters, Norma Terrell, Jeanette Smith, and Sue Pilgrim; 11 
grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and four great great-grandchildren. No 
memorial services were scheduled. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of
