Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net January 29, 2007, 7:05 pm The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, September 09, 2003 Robert Eugene Schliestett, 77, of Cedartown, died Monday, Sept. 1. He was born July 18, 1926 in Polk County, and was a member of the Baptist Faith. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran, serving with the Pacific Fleet during World War II. He was retired from the security industry and was an amateur radio operator for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Teems Schliestett and Annie Mae Shelley Schliestett. Survivors include: daughter, Delores “Lori” Campbell of Atlanta; son, Robert Van Schliestett of Suwanee; brother, James Schliestett of Cedartown; and two granddaughters. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 3 in the Chapel of the Litesey Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment followed in the Polk Memory Gardens with full military rites conducted by the Brewster-Cleveland Post #86. The honor guard of the Brewster-Cleveland Post #86 served as the pallbearers. The Litesey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
