Irene Woodward Shedd, 88, of Rockingham, NC, passed away on Sunday, Mar. 30, 
2003. She was born Jan. 18, 1915 in Esom Hill. Mrs. Shedd was involved with 
community, charitable and social activities. She was preceded in death by her 
husband, Olin Crowder Shedd; sister, Nell Brophy of Atlanta; brother, Sam 
Woodward of Jacksonville, AL; and her parents, David King Woodward and Beulah 
Hackney Woodward. Survivors include sons, Dan Shedd of Matthews, NC and Ken 
Shedd of Spokane, WA; sisters, Edith Barrett of Dunwoody; Jessie Gammage of 
Midland, GA and Mary Smith of Bartow, FL; brother, Fred Woodward of Cedartown; 
2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted 
Tuesday, April 1 at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Rockingham. Entombment 
followed in the mausoleum of Richmond Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to 
First Baptist Church General Fund, 201 N. Randolph St., Rockingham, NC 28379. 
Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham is in charge of arrangements. The
