The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, April 13, 2004
Mearlyn Smith, 74, of 202 E. Jule Peek Ave., passed away March 27, 2004 after a 
sudden illness. She was born Feb. 26, 1930. She is preceded in death by: 
parents, Clarence Jackson and Dolvie Norris Jackson; brothers, J.B. Jackson, 
Edward Jackson and Lanoris “Hoot” Jackson; and sisters, Kathlyn Woods and 
stepson Ronald Smith. Survivors include: husband, Jimmy Ray Smith; stepsons, 
Troy, Randy and Jerome Smith; sisters, Margie Redding, Barbara Smith and Myrtle 
Chandler; and brothers, Ronald and Gary Jackson. Eight step-grandchildren and 
two step-great-grandchildren also survive. Two brothers precede her in death. 
Services were held Tuesday, march 30, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of the Gammage 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Tucker and Rev. Bobby Wood officiating. 
Interment followed in the Northview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wayne Wood, 
Terry Stroup, Shane Smith, Jimmy Cook, Rodney Chandler and Carl Redding. 
Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. (The Cedartown
