Smith of Jasper. A memorial was conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Blackshear Place Baptist Church, Flowery Branch, Ga. with Mr. Harvey Nowland officiating. Graveside services were held later at 3:30 p.m. at State Line Baptist Church Cemetery. Cave Spring. Gammage Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Roland Smith, 73, of Oakland, Ga. formerly of Cave Spring. passed away Oct. 20, 
2003. He was born in Hazlehurst, Ga. and served in Korea from 1951-1952. He was 
preceded in death by his parents Ives Smith and Stella Hassell Smith, two 
brothers and four sisters. Survivors include: wife Carolyn Lawler Smith; 
daughter Cindy Smith; son Joseph Mark Smith; sisters Leila Mae Tant of 
Quartzite, AZ., and Becky Padgett of Douglasville, Ga., and brother Robert M. 
Smith of Jasper. A memorial was conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. from Blackshear
