The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., June 18, 2003
Joyce Houston Tanner, 59, of 2338 Piedmont Hwy., Cedartown, passed away 
Tuesday, June 10, 2003. She was born in Haralson County on March 6, 1944. She 
was the daughter of the late Jack Houston and Joann Letherwood Tanner. She was 
employed at Wal-Mart in Customer Service. Survivors include sons, Richie Tanner 
and Thomas Oliver; brothers, Jerry, Johnny, Jimmy, Jeff, Kenneth, David, Bobby, 
and Billy Houston; sisters, Janice Adams, Betty Duke, Martha Coleman, Patricia 
Adams, Linda Carter, Sarah McElroy, Peggy Houston, and Pamela Dunn; two 
grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted 
Thursday, June 12, at 11 a.m. from Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Glaze 
officiating. Music was provided by Cindy Barber and Evelyn Haskins. Interment 
followed in Northview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris Coleman, Eric Cline, 
Patrick Cline, Michael Williamson, Scott Williamson, and Corey Dunn. Honorary 
pallbearers were Robby Houston and Richard Bishop. Hutcheson’s Memorial Chapel 
of Buchanan was in charge of the arrangements. (The Cedartown Standard,
