The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, November 18, 2003
Guy Thorton, 79, of 6456 Braswell Mountain Rd., Rockmart, passed away Nov. 11, 
2003. Mr. Thorton was born in Polk County. He was a retired Goodyear Employee 
and professional meat cutter, member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and a U.S. 
Navy Veteran of WWII. Survivors include: wife, Lillian Forsyth Thorton; sons, 
Eddie Thorton of Cartersville, Barry Thorton of Rockmart and Allan Thorton of 
Aragon; and sisters, Mrs. Blanche Orr, Mrs. Betty Motes and Mrs. Margie Jacobs, 
all of Rome. Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 13, at 4 p.m. from the 
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, with Rev. Roger Parris and Rev. Clyde Wilson 
officiating. Interment followed in the family lot at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. 
Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. (The Cedartown
