Tompkins, 73, of Mableton, GA, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003. He served in the ministry since the age of 16 and preached throughout the United States and 14 countries, funding numerous missionaries throughout the world. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Allie Tompkins of Mableton; son, Sid Tompkins of Phoenix, AZ; daughters, Cynthia Vandiver, Peggy Gardner and Cecilia Collis, all of Douglasville, and Angie Inegenito of Acworth; brothers, James Tompkins of Jacksonville, AL, Ernest Tompkins of Winston Salem, NC, Roy Edward Reeves of Bessemer, AL; sisters Dorothy Butler and Ruby Langhead, both of Jacksonville, AL, Minnie Murray of Marietta and Willie Reeves of Winston Salem, NC; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel Church of God in Mableton. Rev. Glen Pittman, Rev. Don Arnold and Elder Leroy Rankin officiated. Entombment followed in the Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta. The Davis Struemp Funeral Home of Mableton, GA was in charge of the arrangements.
