January 19, 2007, 10:34 am The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, February 06, 2003 Douglas Joseph Tumlin, 59, of 332 Ruff Rd., Rockmart, passed away Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, at his residence. He was born June 10, 1943, in Easley, SC. He was a diesel mechanic. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Louise Tenney Tumlin; parents, Alonzo Benjamin and Elsie Lee Cobb Tumlin; brothers, Larry and Alvin Tumlin; sister, Gaynelle Samples. Survivors include sons Douglas Joseph Tumlin II of Temple, James Brian Tumlin and Robert Dean Tumlin, both of Rockmart; daughter, Tina Louise Tumlin Mayfield of Villa Rica; brother Jerry Lee Tumlin of College Park; sisters, Jeannette Smith of Buchanan and Phyllis Diane Glover of College Park; 7 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday, February 3 at 11 a.m. from the Freeman Harris Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Barry Keaton and Pastor Roger Smith officiating. Interment followed at 1 p.m. at the Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta. Pallbearers were Anthony Samples, Adrian Samples, Andrea Samples, Kim Cleveland, Charlie Turner and Paul Tenney. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
