Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net January 25, 2007, 12:27 pm The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, May 19, 2003 Dennis Waldrop, 59, of 1147 Old Cedartown Rd., Rockmart, passed away May 12, 2003. He was born July 25, 1943 in Polk County, son of Solomon David Waldrop, Sr., and Rosa Mae Teems Waldrop. He lived the greater part of his life in Polk County, where he was a former police officer with the Rockmart Police Department, a former deputy with the Polk Co. Sheriff’s Department, a former Emergency Medical Technician with the Polk Co. EMS, and a former deputy magistrate judge of Polk County. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother S. D. Waldrop, Jr., and three sisters, Jewell Williams, Frances Cole, and Evelyn Gilbert. Survivors include: wife, Martha Hulsey Waldrop; sons, Ricky Hulsey, Bobby Waldrop, Michael Waldrop, and Greg Waldrop; sister, Annie Ward; brother, Alford Waldrop; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Moses Wilson officiating. Interment followed in the Piney Woods Cemetery in Haralson County. Pallbearers were Jim Crawford, Charles Ingle, Larry Williams, Steve Williams, Ron Campbell, and Buddy Cagle.
