Weaver, 78, of 274 Cross Keys Dr. NE, Apt. 6, Atlanta, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at his residence. Mr. Weaver was born Nov. 30, 1924, in Haralson County and moved to Polk County at a young age where he became a Christian and worked in the Rockmart Church of God. He attended the Polk County School System and graduated from Rockmart High School, after which he graduated from the Georgia College System while working at Lockheed in Marietta. He was employed as an auditor with the Federal Government in Houston, Texas, and with the State of Georgia. He transferred to the Georgia State Public Service Commission where he retired as a Senior Analyst. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel D. and Eliza B. Pope Weaver; brother, Lowell E. Weaver; sisters, Lorena Nix, Allie Thompson, Cora Whitaker, Lillian Kinney, Ruby Gaines and Inez Ballard. Survivors include a brother, Calvin Weaver of Aragon; six nieces and two nephews. The funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. at Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. David Warriner officiating. Pallbearers were R.C. Graham, Scott Graham, Doug Weaver, Greg Ballard and Michael Ballard. The Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
