Kenneth Franklin (Red) Wilkes, 53, of 66 Main Line Rd., Rockmart, died 
Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at his residence. He was born April 23, 1949 in 
Polk County. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served as 2 tours in Vietnam, was 
an employee with Wilkes Floor Covering and a member of Euharlee Baptist Church. 
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walt and Ruby Presley. He is 
survived by his wife, Beverly Jennings Wilkes of Rockmart; mother, Bobbie June 
Bramlett of Rockmart; father and step-mother, H.E. and Jeanette Wilkes of 
Douglasville; daughters, Ruby Wilkes and Sara Wilkes both of Rockmart; 
brothers, Cecil Wilkes, Sr. of Palm Coast, Fla. And Bobby Wayne Wilkes of 
Cedartown; sister, Nova Jean Seay of Jonesboro, and two grandsons. The funeral 
services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Emmanuel Baptist Church with 
Rev. Eddy Hughes, Rev Stevie Waddell and Rev. Edgar Pasley officiating. The 
interment followed in the Aragon Cemetery with Rockmart American Legion Post 
#12 in charge of Military Graveside Rites. Pallbearers: Randy Bradford and 
Denny Wayne Gar, Brian Wilkes, Cecil Wilkes Jr., Steve Wilkes and Shane Wilkes. 
The Freeman Harris Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements. (The Cedartown
