The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA, February 20, 2003
Robert Calvin Wilkes, 70, of 3057 Rome HWY, Lot #12, Aragon, passed away 
Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003 at his residence. He was born July 27, 1932 in Cedartown 
and was a retired carpet installer contractor and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran 
of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and 
Eunice Chappell Wilkes. Survivors include sons, Kevin Wilkes of Aragon and 
Robert Allen Wilkes of Rockmart; daughters; Patricia Wilkes of Aragon and Rose 
Mary Palmer of Albertville, AL; brother, Horace Eugene “Gene” Wilkes of 
Douglasville; sisters, Jo Ann Bradford of Temple, Martha Cowart of Riverdale, 
and Ruby Wallace of Bay Saint Louis, MS; and 3 grandchildren. Funeral services 
were conducted Friday, February 21, at 11 a.m. from the Freeman Harris Funeral 
Home Chapel with Rev. Joseph Shoemaker officiating. Interment followed in the 
Chattanooga National Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN, with Rockmart American Legion 
in charge of military rites. The Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of
