James Ollin “T.H.” Wood, 75, of 242 E. Garrard Ave., passed away Wednesday, 
Aug. 27, 2003 in a local hospital. He was born March 20, 1928 in Haralson Co. 
and was married to Frances Louise Stewart May 22, 1954. He was retired from 
Lockheed with 35 years service and served in the Army from February 46 to 
August 48 and 1950 to 1953 ending Rank in the service as a SGT. He was preceded 
in death by his father James Luther Wood and sister Myra Westbrook Rentz. 
Survivors include his wife, Frances Louise Stewart Wood; daughter, Kim Wood 
Gray; mother, Lucile Weaver Wood; grandchildren Heather and Anthony Gray; 
brothers, Bobby Wood of Rome, Donnie Wood of Carrollton, Rudy Wood of 
Cedartown; and Benny Wood of Rome. Funeral service were conducted Saturday, 
Aug. 30, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with 
Pastor Robert Maehre and Rev. John Giglio officiating. The interment followed 
in Northview Cemetery with Full Military Rites conducted by the Brewster 
Cleveland Post #86. The family received Friends Friday, Aug. 29, 2003 from 7 
until 9 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home. Pallbearers: Jody Hindman, Kenneth 
Maddox, Benny Casey, Jerry Longino, Hugh Hardison, Pinky Knight and Pete Glenn. 
Honorary Pallbearers: Post #86 Legionaries. In lieu of flowers, donations can 
be made to the Veterans Memorial Fund or the American Cancer Society. Gammage 
Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements. (The Cedartown Standard,
