KING, Mrs. S F, ( Sarah ESTES MATTHEWS KING) , 83, of Rt. 2, Cedartown, Ga. passed away at her residence on Friday, October 13, 1944 at 3 a.m. She was born on August 8, 1861 in Troup County, Ga., but had lived in Cave Springs/Cedartown area for 75 years. She had been a member of Rehoboth Baptist Church for 50 years. Mrs. King is survived by three daughters, Mrs. W W Barnett, Mrs. J B Edge and Mrs. A G Mitchell all of Cedartown; two sons, Sam King of Cedartown and Charlie King of Shannon, Ga.; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Services were held at Rehoboth Baptist Church on Saturday, October 14, 1944 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Gordon Chandler and Rev. Ed Dempsey officiating. Interment was at Rehoboth Cemetery. Pallbearers were Euliss Edge, Leo Edge, Jim King, Clark Shaw, Russell Millican and Howell Rhinehart. Mother's Maiden Name: Rebecca Caldwell, born in Georgia. MOBLEY, Pleasant Wilson, 64, of Rt. 1, Cedartown passed away at his residence on Monday, Feb. 19, 1945 at 11: 15 a.m. He was born in Cherokee County, Ala. on July 27, 1880, but had lived in Cave Springs for 46 years. He was a member of Jackson Chapel Methodist Church for 20 years and was a member of the Odd Fellows of Cave Springs. He was preceded in death by his wife, [Anna Lee Ellis Mobley] on May 26, 1936. He is survived by three sons, E J [Everett Jackson] Mobley of Memphis, Tenn., H L [Homer Leo! ] Mobley and H E [Harvey Edward] Mobley of Cedartown; two daughters, Mrs. J B [should be G D Estes - Flonnie] Estes of Atlanta, Mrs. Ruby Patterson of Panama City, Fla., two brothers, I E [Isaac Edward] Mobley of Cedartown, T J [Thomas J] Mobley of Cave Springs and two grandchildren. He was born in Polk County, on June 22, 1896 and had lived all of his life in and around Cedartown. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Lillie Hall, whom he married in 1914; six sons, Alden Hatch, Herbert Hatch, and Clyde Hatch, all of Cedartown, Billy Hatch, Bobby Hatch, US Merchant Marines, and Otto Hatch of Rome; 3 daughters, Mrs. J P ! She is survived by her husband M C [Mallory Chesley] Powell to whom she was married August 22, 1920; four sons, Clarence J, Earnest and Barney Powell, all of Cedartown and Charles Powell, US Navy, Alaska; three daughters, Ruth, Louise, and Joan Powell, all of Cedartown; parents, Mr. and! Funeral was at South Side Baptist Church on Monday, August 23, 1948 at 2 p.m. with Rev J C Hollifield officiating. He had been a member of Buchanan Baptist Church for 40 plus years. He taught school for 11 years and carried the mail on RFD from Buchanan for 32 years, retiring 12 years ago. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Miss Kitty Head. She is survived by her husband, H S Moore; one daughter, Ina Mae Moore; Father, Jim Nichols of Cedartown; three brothers, Johnnie Nichols, Herman Nichols, both of Cedartown, J D Nichols, of U S Army; one sister, Mrs. Lois Baldwin, Cedartown. The funeral was held at Providence Baptist Church, near Forney, Ala. on Sunday, July 31, 1949 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Ed Dempsey officiating. Burial was at Providence Cemetery.
