H. Thompson, an outstanding "movie man" in Georgia and other states, receiving most flattering recognition from the highest authorities in the realm of picture show activities. The theater is large, equipped with comfortable seats, air-conditioned, and shows only _the best pictures. Mr. Thompson has leased the Community Swimming Pool and has added other attractive recreation features, such as picnic grounds, shuffle board, skating rink, bowling alley, and duck pin alley. Hawkinsville is the owner of an unusually good baseball diamond, and her team, the "Red Birds," won the series of the Ocmulgee League in 1935. Mock Springs, on the Vienna road, is a popular place for picnics and swimming. "Trade at Home" is a slogan Hawkinsville can well afford to adopt. Over a hundred business houses of every type and variety, all carrying first-class commodities in their particular lines, places Hawkinsville in the forefront as a real city.
