FERRIAGE OR TOLL FOR THE CITIZENS OF DODGE, TELFAIR AND LAURENS COUNTIES

   We, the undersigned merchants and citizens of Hawkinsville, promise to pay
the amounts opposite our names to James Phillips for the purpose of paying the
ferriage or toll of the citizens of Dodge, Telfair and Laurens Counties who may
wish to visit Hawkinsville for the purpose of bringing their produce and
transacting their general business:
