Most of the cotton was taken on at Jacksonville, Telf air County, and was consigned to the warehouses in Hawkinsville. Parties down the river also came up and purchased goods here to be carried back by boat. Captain Holmes states that he will make monthly trips to Hawkinsville with his boat during the business season.
