MARKERT. Mrs. Martha Markert died at the home of her son-in-law, Mr. J. L. Huggins, in this city, Saturday afternoon at half past two o'clock. Mrs. Markert's health had not been good for several years and she suffered at times with heart disease, which was the immediate cause of her death. She was sixty-eight years old and was highly respected by all who knew her for her many excellent traits of character. Mrs. Markert was twice married, the first time to Mr. Wasner, and the second time to Mr. George V. Markert, a well known baker, who removed with his family to this city a number of years ago from Perry, Ga. Mrs, Markert is survived by one daughter, Mrs. J. L. Huggins, of this city, five sons, H. B. Wasner, of this county, John Wasner, of Perry, F. B. Markert, of Atlanta, Will F. and E. K. Markert, of Cordele, and two step-sons, Charlie Markert of this county, and George Markert of Florida. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon at half past two o'clock, being conducted by Rev. E. H. McGehee, and the interment was in Orange Hill cemetery.
