MARY DEATON. Mrs. Mary E. Deaton died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. E. Carruthers, in this city Friday afternoon at two o'clock after a protracted illness due principally to the infirmities of old age, she having reached the 81st milestone in the journey of life when the summons came. Mrs. Deaton was a member of the Baptist church and was respected by all who knew her as a good woman and a true follower of her Savior. Mrs. Deaton is survived by four children, Mrs. M. E. Carruthers, of this city; Mrs. J. M. Fisher, of South McAllister, Indian Territory; Mrs. S. M. Perry, of Russellville, Ark., and Mr. George Deaton, of Louisiana, besides numerous other relatives. The funeral was conducted from her late home Saturday afternoon at three o'clock by her pastor, Rev. Charles L. Greaves, and the interment followed in Orange Hill Cemetery. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: J. J. Harvard, T. H. Bridges, F. H. Bozeman, J. B. Lewis, M. W. Taylor and T. B.
