Barrs Thursday Afternoon Funeral services for Mrs. Annie E. Barrs, 62, who died early Wednesday morning, October 6, at her home near Ocilla were held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clcok at Old Valley Grove Church. Elder Ashley Griffin officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. The former Miss Annie Bethune, Mrs. Barrs was the widow of the late J. H. Barrs who died October 7, 1947. She was born in Spaulding County November 15,1886, the daughter of the late D. R. and Blanche Key Bethune and resided with her husband in Cochran until they moved to Ocilla in 1924. She had been in failing health for some time but has grown steadily worse for the past few months. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Louis Griner, Alapaha, Mrs. Virgil Roberts, Columbia, SC, Mrs. J. W. Tomberlin, Mystic, and Mrs. Jake Woods, Ocilla; and four sons, Albert, Lonnie, and Luther Barrs, all of Ocilla and John Barrs, Jackson, SC.
