Brown Taken by Death Mrs. Ruth Carroll Brown, 53, of the Midway District in Pulaski County, died Sunday night at her residence after a long illness. Mrs. Brown was a native of Pulaski County. She was a member of the Midway Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon in Midway Baptist, the Rev. W. W. Cook and the Rev. Lanier Beasley officiating. Burial was in the Brown Family Cemetery, Clark Funeral Home in charge. Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband, H. C. (Cap) Brown of the Midway District; three sons, H. C. Brown Jr., Warner Robins, William Lovett Brown, Route 1 Eastman, and Miles Reuben Brown, Hawkinsville; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Gilmer, Augusta; three brothers, Tom Watson Carroll, Luther Carroll, and George Carroll, all of Hawkinsville; four sisters, Mrs. David Peavy, Macon, Mrs. Poe D'avi, New Milford, NJ, Mrs. Joe Smith and Miss Lula E. Carroll, of Hawkinsville; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers were Carlton Vaughn, Virgil Thompson, Wendell Meadows, Tommy Hogg, Willie Cobb, Bill Cape, Bobby Mullis, and Herbert Simmons. Additional Comments: Ruth was born 3 May 1914 to Caskin B.
