Coffee died at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. M. W. Leman, in this place, last Monday morning at four o'clock, aged sixty-three years. Capt. Coffee was born and reared in Telfair County, and at one time conducted a mercantile business in this place, but at the time of his death and for a number of years prior thereto was a resident of Houston County, where he engaged in farming being one of the leading planters of that county. He had been a sufferer for some time with bladder trouble and came here about two weeks ago for medical treatment, but he continued to grow worse in spite of all that could be done for him. All other efforts having failed to do him any good, he decided, as a last resort, to undergo an operation, which was successfully performed Thursday night by Dr. Hicks, of Dublin, but it only gave him temporary relief, and after lingering until four o'clock Monday morning, he passed away as above stated. Capt. Coffee was well known throughout this section, and had many friends will be pained to learn of his death. He is survived by a wife and eight children, six daughters and two sons, and three brothers, besides other relatives. The funeral services were conducted at nine o'clock Tuesday morning by Rev. J. W. Domingos, of the Methodist Church, after which the remains were interred in Orange Hill Cemetery by the Masons, the deceased being a member of Mount Hope Lodge of this place. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Among the out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral of Capt.
