J. W. CONEY DIES NEAR AUSTELL, GA.

Remains were brought here Saturday and interred in Orange Hill Cemetery.

Mr. James W. Coney died Thursday night at his home near Austell, Ga.  Mr. 
Coney had been in bad health for some time though the immediate cause of death 
was heart failure.

Mr. Coney was 63 years old at the time of his death.  He was born and reared 
in this county, where he spent the major portion of his life, and was well 
known and highly esteemed.

He is survived by one son, Mr. Willie Coney, and was a brother-in-law of Mr. 
S. M. Phillips and a cousin of Mr. J. F. Coney, of this city.

The remains were brought here Saturday, arriving on the 12:40 train and the 
interment following immediately in Orange Hill cemetery, Dr. C. H. Nash 
conducting the services t the grave.


Additional Comments:
Compiler Notes: It is assumed he was buried next to his wife Lousia Drake 
Philips.  In the Census it states he was born abt 1847 in Pulaski County.(His 
grave is unmarked)  Both are buried in Sec: L., Philips Lot,  Orange Hill 
Cemetery, Hawkinsville, Pulaski County, Georgia. (He is not Marked or listed 
in the INDEX of Orange Hill Cemetery, Hawkinsville, Pulaski County, Georgia ) 
But his obituary states he was buried in Orange Hill Cemetery. Also note above 
spelling of his brother-in-law last name. Its Philips.
