Harrell, an aged and highly respected citizen of this county, is, at this writing, Tuesday morning) lying dangerously ill at his residence, about 9 miles from Eastman. We join his many friends in the hope that his life may be spared. He is Dead. Since the above was put in type, we learn that Mr. Harrell died on Tuesday afternoon about 4 o'clock. In his death, dodge County loses one of her best citizens and most successful farmers. No man in this section had more friends, and no man deserved more. He was, and had been for many years, a member of the Eastman Masonic Lodge, and will be buried with Masonic honors at his family burial ground this morning at 9 o'clock by his lodge. Mr. Harrell leaves Many relatives and a large circle of friends, the writer among the number, to mourn his loss. Peace to his ashes. William "Billie" Holt Harrell and wife Sophia Hendley Harrell are buried in the Lovett Roger Farm (Old Harrell Cemetery), Dodge County, Georgia. Additional Comments: Compliler Notes: William "Billie" Holt Harrell was born 27 July 1811 in that part of Pulaski that later became Dodge County. He died 15 June 1886 at his plantation in the lower part of Dodge County, Georgia. He married Sophia Handley in Pulaski County 20 October 1831. (She was the daughter of William Handley & Millie Ann Horton (Haughton). William Holt Harrell was the son of Levi Harrell II and wife Elizabeth Holt who were married in 1806. 2nd Obituary (same page) Thursday, July 1, 1886 OBITUARY In memory of my grandfather-in-law, Wm. H. Harrell, (Uncle Billie, as he was familiarly known) who was born in Pulaski County (now Dodge) about five miles from Eastman, July 4th, 1811; died at his residence June 15, 1886, at 6 o'clock p.m., of congestion of the stomach, aged 74 years, 10 months and 18 days, leaving a heart stricken family of children, grandchildren and many relatives and friends to mourn his loss.
