Vol 9, #46, Thursday Morning, 4 Nov.1875. Obituary, Page 58 Mr. John Keen, Age 73 yrs. And an old citizen of this county, died on the 23d of October. He moved from North Carolina to Laurens county, in this State, in 1816, thence to Houston county in 1824. For the last 23 years, he has been a citizen of Pulaski county. Additional Comments: Compiler Notes: John Keen was born 22 Jun 1800 in Johnson County., North Carolina and died (see above). He in 1829 married Sarah Scarborough she was born 1807 in Georgia and died 1880 in Georgia. ( I found no obituary on her). John Keen does not appear in the following cemetery books, Houston, Pulaski or Laurens Counties. ( Could he be at Old Antioch in a unmarked grave.?) He was the father of George Washington Keen (see find a grave, Old Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Pulaski County., Georgia.)
