Hon. John Willcox, the late representative of Telfair, died at his near Temperance in that county, on Thursday, December 16, 1880, in the 67th year of his age. During the recent session of the legislature Mr. Willcox, while in Atlanta, contracted pneumonia, but so far recovered as to be able to return home, when a relapse occurred, and he died after a few days illness. Mr. Willcox was elected to the legislature at the first election after the constitutional convention, and was reelected in October las. A special election to fill the vacancy will probably be ordered by Governor Colquitt in April or May, as an adjouned term of the legislature will be held in July next. Possibly the election may be ordered at an earlier date.
