All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beth Collins collins@negia.net November 30, 2003, 6:40 pm Lot 7, 4th District Putnam County Written: September 4 1810 Recorded: November 16 1810 Putnam County, Deed Book B, page 83 Georgia } This Indenture made this the fourth day of September In the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred & ten between William Varner esquire Sheriff of the County of Putnam & State aforsd. of the one part and Giles Tompkins of the County of Putnam & State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Varner esquire for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and thirty one dollars to him in hand well & truly at or before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the Receipt whereof the said William Varner doth hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained & Sold and by these presents (and by virtue of the power in vested as Sheriff aforesaid and of two Executions Issuing out of a Justices Court in the County of Putnam in the state aforesaid bearing date the 21st Day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & on wherein John C Mason as Administrator of George McClung was plaintiff and George May defendant) doth bargain & Sell unto the said Giles Tompkins his Heirs and assigns all that tract or lot of land containing two hundred two and a half acres on the waters of Little river & Known by lot number 7 in the 4th District of Baldwin now Putnam County and this Day sold at public Sale or outcry under the Executors aforesaid and the said Giles Tompkins being the highest and best bidder was Knocked off to him at the price or the Sum of one hundred and thirty one dollars To have and to hold the said premises unto the said Giles Tompkins and his Heirs & assigns forever in as full and ample manner as it was held by the said George Maye In witness whereof the said William Varner esquire Sheriff aforesaid hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his Seal the Day & year first above written Sealed & delivered in presence of Edwd.
