Putnam County, Deed Book B, page 82

State of Georgia    }  This Indenture Made and entered into this 
Putnam County      }  twenty sixth Day of October Eighteen hundred and nine
between Robert Reid and Susanna & Susanna his wife of the one part and Giles 
Tompkins of the other part  Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum 
of five hundred dollars to us in hand paid by the said Tompkins the Receipt 
whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained & sold a certain tract or 
lot of land containing two hundred two and a half acres more or less Situate 
and being in the fourth district of Baldwin County number Seventy Seven, now 
Putnam County for the above mentioned sum of five hundred dollars to us in hand 
paid we the said Robert Reid & Susanna his wife doth warrant and forever defend 
the rights of said land to Giles Tompkins his Heirs and assigns forever 
together with all its rights and appurtenances thereunto belonging  In witness 
thereof we set our hands & Seals
