Putnam County, Deed Book K, page 292

State of Georgia    }  This Indenture made & entered into this twelfth
Putnam County      }  day of March Eighteen hundred and twenty four between 
Giles Tompkins of the one part and Nicholas Tompkins of the other part 
Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of one thousand dollars in 
hand paid by the Said Nicholas Tompkins the receipt whereof is hereby 
acknowledged the Said Giles Tompkins doth bargain and Sell and by these 
presents hath bargained and Sold to the Said Nicholas Tompkins a certain tract 
or lot of land containing one hundred two & one half acres more or less Situate 
& being in the fourth district of Baldwin now Putnam County known by number One 
hundred and Seven in Said District for & in consideration of the above Sum of 
one thousand dollars the said Giles Tompkins doth bind himself his heirs &c to 
warrant and defend the right of the above described land to Nicholas Tompkins 
his heirs and assigns forever in fee Simple  In witness hereof I Set my hand 
and Seal in presence of
