Putnam County, Deed Book P, page 241

State of Georgia    }  This Indenture made & entered into this Sixth 
day of September Eighteen hundred and thirty eight between William A Luckey and 
his wife Mariah R Luckey of Muscogee County & State aforesaid of the one part 
and Giles Tompkins of Putnam County of the other part Witnesseth that for and 
in Consideration of the Sum of Fifty dollars in hand paid by the Said Tompkins 
the Said Luckey and his wife Mariah R Luckey does bargain and Sell and by these 
presents have bargained and Sold to the Said Tompkins a certain tract or parcel 
of land containing twenty five acres more or less  it being a part of Land of 
Jesse Vaseys estate deceased and being in the South east corner of lot Number 
one hundred and thirty nine in the fourth district of Baldwin County when 
Surveyed Now Putnam County Bounded Westwardly by Benjamin Hearns Land and North 
Eastwardly by Said Vaseys land deceased and Eastwardly by Said Tompkins land 
beginning on a pine corner running Southwestwardly to a red oak corner thence 
Northwardly on Benjamin Hearns line thirty chins to a Hickory Corner thence 
Southeastwardly to the beginning corner for & in consideration of the above Sum 
of Fifty Dollars in hand paid by the Said Tompkins the Said Luckey & Mariah R 
his wife does warrant and defend the right of Said Land to Said Tompkins his 
heirs & assigns forever in witness hereof we Set our hands and Seals in 
presence of 
the day & date above written

me this 15th December 1838
