All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beth Collins collins@negia.net December 10, 2003, 7:20 pm Lot 130, 4th District, Putnam County Written: February 11 1823 Recorded: March 7 1823 Putnam County, Deed Book K, pages 29 - 30 Georgia This Indenture made the eleventh day of February in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty three and in the forty Seventh year of the Independence of the United States of America between Nathaniel Peters of the County of Putnam of the one part and Abraham Leverett of the county aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Nathaniel Peters for & in consideration of the Sum of fifteen hundred dollars in hand paid at & before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained sold aliened conveyed & confirmed & by these presents do grant bargain sell alien convey and confirm unto the said Abraham Leverett his heirs & assigns all that tract or parcel of Land containing two hundred two & one half acres be the same more or less situate in the fourth district of formerly Baldwin now Putnam Known & distinguished by number one hundred and thirty – To have & to hold the said land and premises with all & singular the rights members and appertenances thereof whatsoever to the Said Abrm Leverett being belonging or in anywise appertaining with the remainder & remainders reversion & reversions rents issues & profits thereof to the only proper use benefit & behoof of him the Said Abraham Leveritt his heirs executors and administrators the Said bargained land & premises unto the Said Abraham Leveritt his heirs executors administrators & assigns against the Said claim of himself his heirs Executors & administrators and all & every other person or persons Shall & will warrant & forever defend by virtue of these presents in witness whereof the Said Nathaniel Peters hath hereunto Set his hand & affixed his Seal the day & year first above written Signed Sealed & delivered in presence of Isaac Hutchins Mathew Peters Nathaniel Peters Georgia } Before James Espey a Justice of the peace personally Putnam County } came Isaac Hutchins one of the Subscribing to the within Indenture & after being duly sworn Saith on his oath that he Saw the within named Nathaniel Peters sign Seal & deliver the within as his act & Deed & as such to be recorded & also Saw Mathew Peters Sign his name as a witness to the Same – Sworn to before me this 25th day of February 1823 James Espey J.P.
