State of Georgia             }  This Indenture made this third day of January 
eighteen
Hundred and twenty two between Templeton Reid of Baldwin County of the one part 
and Giles Tompkins of Putnam County of the other part.  Witnesseth that for and 
in
Consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars in hand paid, by the said 
Thompkins the sd Reid doth bargain and sell and by these presence hath 
bargained and sold a certain tract or Lot of Land containing four hundred and 
ninety acres more or less Situate and being in the Thirteen District of Irwin 
County known by Lot number forty two for and in consideration of the above sum 
of five hundred Dollars the said Reid doth warrant and defend the rights of the 
above described Land to Giles Tompkins his heirs and assigns forever  In 
Witness hereof I set my hand and seal in presence of the day and date above 
written
