Eatonton, Ga., Nov. 22, 1860. Bro. 
Beebe .*—By request I send you the 
obituary of sister JANE C. BUCKNER, 
consort of Hiram Buckner, who departed 
this life Oct. 29, 1860. Sister Buckner 
was born Dec. 25,1802, which makes her 
57 years, 10 months, and 4 days old. 
She was baptized with her husband at 
Mt. Gilead church, 1827, or 28. She was 
a member of Enon church when she died. 
Sister Buckner was ever blessed with an 
unwavering faith in Christ her Savior, 
for over 30 years. Though she was a 
subject of affliction for several 
years, she bore it with the fortitude 
and patience which the children of God 
are blessed with. In all her 
afflictions she would still praise the 
Lord for his goodness toward her; but 
her afflictions sorrows, and troubles 
are over. She was willing to be 
absentfrom the body, to be present 
withthe Lord. Yea, willing to leave the 
sorrows of this world, for the joys of 
heaven. Though she is taken from the 
embraces of a lovely husband and 
children, for which they are left to 
mourn and grieve, day after day, her 
happy spirit is inthe embraces of her 
blessedSavior, united with all the 
heavenly hosts, to praise his glo- 
rious name forever, whoredeemed her 
with his own blood. May the Lord 
sanctify this dispensation of his 
providence, to the goed of thedear 
husband and allthe dear children. Omay 
her prayers be answered on the part of 
her lovely children, and may her vacant 
seat in the church be speedily filled 
by some of her lovely daughters.
