Pellagra was the immediate cause of Mr. Odom's death. He was a merchant as well as farmer, and numbered many friends who will regret to know of his death. The funeral services were conducted by his pastor, Rev. C. F. Hughes, of the West Putnam circuit, after which the remains were interred in the family burial ground beside his wife, who preceded him to the grave a little more than twelve months ago. At the time of his death, Mr. Odom was fifty-eight years of age. He is survived by two children, Boykin Bennett Odom, of Macon, and Miss Lilla Odom, a teacher in the schools of Putnam for several years past, and two sisters, Mrs. Ione Whaley and Mrs. Anna Bradley.
