She was born the 31st of Dec. 1875, and was the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hawkins. In her childhood days she joined the Methodist church of which she has been a true and loyal member. For a number of years she was organist at Ararat church, where she was a member. After her marriage to Mr. Pinkerton her membership was moved to St. Paul. After a few weeks of severe suffering, in all of which her Christian faith sustained her, this gentle, patient, sweet spirited pure saint quietly slipped away from earth to heaven to be forever with her Lord. Those who knew her best loved her most. Her unselfish service for others, her faithfulness to her friends, her refined gracious manner and her deathless devotion to her husband and children, mother and father, and all her dear ones, made it impossible for her to die. She still lives in the hearts of those that knew her and her unselfishness and the life she led will never be forgotten by her loved ones left behind. She leaves three little children, Thelma, Benjamin and Charlie, her husband, seven sisters, four brothers, a father and mother and many relatives and friends to mourn their loss. May the good Lord comfort them in these sad hours. One Who Loved Her Additional Comments: Bessie is buried in Mt. Ararat Methodist Church Cemetery, Putnam, Co., Ga.
