Pinkerton, 72, who died Jan 4, 1979 at his home in Putnam County. Services were held at the Philadelphia Methodist Church cemetery with Rev. Melvin Charles officiating. A prominent dairyman, now retired, Mr. Pinkerton was a native of Putnam County, the son of the late James A. and Bessie Hawkins Pinkerton. He was married to the former Ermine Hill and the couple raised their family here. He is survived by his widow and by his son Bennie K. Pinkerton of Eatonton and daughter Mrs. Julia Murphy of Macon; six grandchildren, brothers James A. Pinkerton of San Diego, California and Rufus A. Pinkerton, Charlotte, N.C. and four sisters Flora Jean Reddinger, Miami, Fla., Thelma Moffett, Lakeland, Fla., Bessie Kerr, St. Petersburg, Fla. And Blondell Sames, Tampa, Fla. and his step mother Mrs. J.A. Pinkerton of Daytona Beach, Fla. Pallbearers were Bill Rousseau, Clifford Marshall, H.P. McMichael, Armour Maddox, Willie Jones and Larry Manly. Vining Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Benjamin Alexander Pinkerton, b. Aug. 8, 1906 in Rockville, is buried in Philadelphia Methodist Church cemetery. He married Ermine Hill, daughter of Augustus L. Hill and Julia Katharine Moseman, on Oct. 23, 1938 in Eatonton. They had a son, Bennie K. Pinkerton of Eatonton and a daughter, Julia Murphy of Macon, Ga.
