E. Rainey, 87, were held at the Eatonton Methodist Church Tuesday morning. Mrs. Rainey died at a Milledgeville hospital late Sunday following several months of declining health. The former Nannie Walker, Mrs. Rainey was a life long resident of Putnam County. She was married to W. E. Rainey in 1882. Mr. Rainey died a number of years ago. She was affiliated with the Eatonton Methodist Church. For many years Mrs. Rainey was a leading figure in the community and church activities at Willard. Mrs. Rainey is survived by one brother, Frank Walker, Eatonton, two daughters, Mrs. H. G. Leverette, Sr., Eatonton and Mrs. Clem Powers, Atlanta, and two sons, Robert and Milton, both of Eatonton, as well as a number of nieces and nephews and grandchildren. Last rites were conducted by the Rev. Walter Earnest, Monticello, former pastor and long time friend of Mrs. Rainey's and the Rev. H. F. Lawhorn. Pallbearers included, W. W. Walker, Allen Marshall and Milton Rainey, Jr., Eatonton, Pierce Walker, Milledgeville and Nat Walker, Monticello and Charlie Walker.
